Tracey Meads (Counsellor)

Tracey moved to Whanganui from the Manawatu in 2020.  She trained as a Counsellor completing her training in 2010 and in 2021 also completed her training as a Life Coach.  Tracey has worked with youth at risk being part of starting a programme for teen girls disengaged from the education system. She has experience in family harm having worked with women and children for 4 years and 5 years as a facilitator for Restorative Justice on the family harm team.

After moving to Whanganui, Tracey started her private practice and works with a range of clients, including ACC-sensitive claims, family harm and youth.   She also has experience in aged care (dementia).

Tracey has an eclectic approach using different modalities to suit each person.  Client-centred therapy is the base from which all her work is founded, and includes CBT, ACT therapy, narrative, drawing therapy, Hakomi – mindfulness and bodywork. Tracey has a special interest in the mind-body connection. 

Tracey has worked with anger management and regulation, gaslighting and the effects of this, depression, anxiety/panic, self-esteem, relationships, and trauma.  She thinks of balance….looking at the problem but also navigating a way forward.
