Maria works part-time in Older Persons Mental Health at Whanganui District Base Hospital and also runs a private counselling business working with private clients and ACC sensitive claims clients. Maria commenced her career in Australia, working in community recovery, aged care assessment and acute mental health services. She studied at the University of Sydney and has a double degree in Psychology and Social Work. Maria has been trained in EMDR by its creator, Dr Francine Shapiro and has extensive experience, having completed both levels. She recently joined LifeCo Psychology Ltd where she works as a counsellor, and is a valued member of the trauma recovery team.
